BNP Paribas in Turkey


BNP Paribas was one of the first global banks to develop its presence in Turkey. Its commitment in the region dates back to its historical presence through Osmanli Bankasi (Ottoman Bank). It has strong relationships with a wide network of corporate and local financial institutions as well as with key governmental agencies and officials.

All the activities of the bank are represented in Turkey and address individuals as well as professionals, corporate and institutional clients. The Group has strengthened its local presence with TEB (Türk Ekonomi Bankası), its main partner, 9th bank by size, and 6th among the privately-owned banks in Turkey.


The new TEB

BNP Paribas and Çolakoğlu Group each have 50% of TEB Holding shares BNPP holds overall 67% of the new TEB, as a result of the merger which took place in February 2011 between TEB and Fortis Bank Turkey.

Following the Fortis merger in 2011, TEB doubled its network and positioned itself in a leading position among Tier 2 banks. With 600 branches and 10,000 employees, it provides services to
3 million individual customers and 500,000 corporate customers.
